Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. Excellent museum of modern art, de Fundatie. Beautiful bookstore inside an old church. The best cake and chocolates in the Netherlands at Bakkerij Lindeboom. Try my three favourites: Dark chocolate filled with 5-spice, dark chocolate with cardamom filling, and the milk chocolate filled with caramel and sea salt. Try the others too. Many are prize winning chocolates.

I was raining so we could not appreciate very much, but I am sure that the hystorical part of the city, for what I could have seen, is very interesting and charming. While a bit outside of Zwolle and not easily accessible with public transport (around 5min walk to the nearest bus stop) this place is great for a stay. The room was spacious and equipped with everything you need for a short trip (free coffee, safe, hairdryer). The hotel also has bicycles available for rent--either as a regular bike or an ebike--and availability of the bikes was no issue. Upon special request, the bikes were even available before the regular pickup times.

The bed was comfortable. When we stayed the weather was cold and snowy but the room was well heated. There is a whisky bar on the ground floor that also sells various bar and restaurant food, which we found handy. It is only a short walk from the train station and the city centre. We would be happy to stay here again.
